Who we are
Āarambh is a storytelling platform and podcast dedicated to sharing real journeys of people who turned beginnings into milestones. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information on https://podcastaarambh.com.
Comments
We may send an anonymized hash of your email (a Gravatar hash) to the Gravatar service to check whether you use Gravatar; Gravatar’s privacy practices are governed by Automattic: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture (if any) may be visible alongside the comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid embedding location data (EXIF GPS) in those images. Visitors may download images and extract any embedded location data. We are not responsible for information you leave in image metadata.
Cookies
We use cookies to improve your experience. Below is how we use them:
Comment cookies: If you leave a comment you may opt in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience. These persist for one year.
Login cookies: If you visit our login page we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies (discarded when you close the browser). When you log in we set cookies to remember your login and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last one year. Choosing “Remember Me” keeps your login for two weeks. Logging out clears these cookies.
Post-edit cookie: If you edit or publish an article, we store a cookie that shows the post ID you edited. It expires after one day.
General purpose: We may also use essential cookies for site security, analytics cookies to understand how the site is used (in aggregate), and any cookies required by embedded third-party content.
You can control cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may reduce site functionality.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, social posts). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the external site directly. Those third parties may collect data about you, use their own cookies, track your interactions, and monitor engagement if you have an account with them. We do not control the privacy practices of embedded services.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. Visitor comments may be checked through automated spam-detection services. If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email. Administrators may access user profiles to manage content and support the community.
Where we use third-party services (hosting, analytics, spam detection, embedded players), those services process data under their own privacy policies. We select reputable vendors and require contractual safeguards where applicable.
How long we retain your data
Comments & metadata: Indefinitely. This helps us recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically.
User accounts: If you register, we retain profile information you provide. You can view, edit, or request deletion of your personal data through your account (username cannot be changed). Administrators may also access and manage this data.
Other data: Retention periods for logs and backups are guided by operational, legal, and security needs; we delete or anonymize data when it is no longer necessary.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request:
- A copy of the personal data we hold about you (export).
- That we erase your personal data (subject to exceptions where we must retain information for legal, security, or administrative reasons).
To make any request, contact us (see contact details below). We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments and form submissions may be analyzed by automated spam-detection services. We may share data with service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery) strictly to operate the site. These service providers may be located in other countries; when they are, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your data.
Security & updates
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. No online service is perfectly secure; while we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When we make material changes we will post the updated date at the top of this page.
If you have questions, requests about your personal data, or want to request an export or deletion, please contact:
